50 cm height - container (2 liters) - C2
An evergreen tree with a compact, pyramidal crown shape. Tree height 2-3m and width 0.8-1.2m. Relatively small number of skeletal branches. Side branches are sparsely spaced. The shoots are directed upwards. The needles are lush, emerald green in color, shiny and retain their color even in winter.
Undemanding to light and soil conditions, tolerates pruning well. It feels best in neutral to slightly acidic, light loamy or loamy soil with a soil reaction of pH 5.5-7.5. When arranging plantings, it is preferable to mulch the beds with peat, bark mulch or some other material of organic origin. In order to form a dense, uniform plantation, thuja of this variety should be pruned at least twice a year.
A pre-1950 variety, selected at the Poulsen (Dorus Theus Poulsen) nursery in Kvistgård, Denmark, as a sport from the variety 'Kelleriis Viridis'. Synonyms: Thuja occidentalis 'Emerald Green' and Thuja occidentalis 'Emeraud'.
